With the M|80, and the M|80x, you can enjoy all the amazing features of MovieRecorder, in a certified hardware and software bundle. We have gathered what we think are the highest quality hardware components in order to ensure the best experience possible. Just connect the M|80(x) to your Mac Pro or iMac Pro, using a single Thunderbolt cable, start MovieRecorder, and you are ready to start ingesting up to 8 streams of HD (or SD) on your Mac!
The M|80 is the first hardware and software bundle that we provide. It includes:
- Eight licenses of MovieRecorder (on a single dongle),
- One SDI Video card from Deltacast card (DELTA-hd-elp-d 80) with 8 inputs,
- One Sonnet Echo Express SEL Thunderbolt 2 Expansion Chassis,
- One Black Thunderbolt cable.
You will just need to connect it in Thunderbolt and the dongle to your new Mac Pro and you are good to go. The only thing you'll need to buy is a Mac Pro, because, no the Mac Pro is not included for the price...
Softron has a lot of experience working with Sonnet and their xMac mini Servers and xMac Pro Server solutions. These are amazing products that have been put into service by a number of our users who require rack-mountable solutions. The Sonnet Echo Express SEL is the only Thunderbolt 2 device that is suitable for Low-Profile cards, making it the smallest yet most powerful solution to accommodate the Low-Profile Deltacast card that we chose for the M|80. As you can see in the picture above, you will notice notice that this chassis is very small - just like the new MacPro! AND most importantly, it is QUIET!
- With the M|80, you are able to record either:
- 8 x HD (or SD)
- 4 x 2K
- 2 x 4K signals
As usual, the system requirements will depend on the format and codec that you will be using, and we recommend that you run tests to confirm. You may want to check the requirements tab on the MovieRecorder page.
Note also that you may want to check the Thunderbolt bandwidth limitation, as for example in 1080i59.94, you can not work with 8 channels in 10-bit, you can maximum do 6 channels in 10-bit and 2 channels in 8-bit. In 1080i50 or 720p60 for example, there is no problem, it all depends on the format and sample size you require.
Download the Software you need
