IBC2025: Softron Unveils Apple ProRes on ST 2110 and Immersive Workflows for Live Sports Capture and Replay in 8K

Other software innovations on display include SRT streaming support for input and output video recording and support for Octopus and SAGA for newsroom workflows.

BRUSSELS, Sept. 2, 2025 - Softron, the broadcast industry’s leading developer of professional video and broadcast software solutions for macOS, today announced plans to bring four breakthrough broadcast and video solutions to the IBC2025 conference.

The four innovations on display in the Softron booth 7.C37 include:

  • Market-first support for Apple ProRes over ST 2110 via the Macnica Americas MEP100 Smart NIC. This demonstration of ProRes over ST 2110 provides Apple users the ability to use compressed video over this standard, combining high-quality video with lower bandwidth requirements and higher throughput. Softron is also adding support for the AJA KONA IP25 and the Blackmagic-Design Decklink IP 100G to deliver uncompressed ST 2110 support.

  • Immersive workflows for live sports capture and replay in 8K 100fps with M|Replay. M|Replay’s addition of High Frame Rate (HFR) makes it the first replay solution built for immersive workflows for Apple Vision Pro. Softron’s MovieRecorder captures two streams of 8K 50 and groups them into a single HFR input. Content can be immediately played through another grouped HFR video signal output. The video signal can be marked with in and out points and automatically exported based on conditional rules and paths.

  • SRT streaming support in Softron’s OnTheAir Video and MovieRecorder software. Broadcasters using remote workflows increasingly rely on Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) protocol to stabilize unpredictable networks, bolster low latency live production, and improve security. MovieRecorder receives SRT streams and captures the signal as if it were an in-house signal, enabling on-site live production to be sent back to the office. It can also create a SRT stream from a SDI or NDI source. OnTheAir Video will be able to both receive SRT streams and, with additional options, output an SRT signal back, making it more flexible for broadcasters.

  • OnTheAir MOS Gateway support for Octopus and SAGA (by Fonn) for newsroom workflows. OnTheAir MOS Gateway allows newsrooms to build powerful OnTheAir Video playlists while keeping their show in their newsroom computer system (NRCS). Producers can create and customize new video objects without touching OnTheAir Video. Users can non-destructively edit the video’s in and out points, add timed graphics, music, actions and commands during video playout. This enables users to pre-produce entire segments without committing the changes as if it were an edited video file.

“We are thrilled to join broadcasting professionals from around the world to see the future of media and entertainment at IBC2025,” said Daniel Tapie, CEO of Softron Media Services. “From bridging live IP workflows and post-production workflows natively on the macOS for the first time on ST 2110, to creating the first replay solution built for immersive workflows for sports and news broadcasters, Softron is eager to display its innovation on the Mac platform.”
“Macnica is proud to demonstrate our shared vision with Softron to bring professional ST 2110 workflows to the Mac platform,” said Macnica Americas President Sebastien Dignard. “IBC attendees will be amazed to see how Macnica’s MEP100 provides access to 100Gbps of network speed to unleash the potential for faster live, remote and post-production production work for Apple-based content creators.”
