A video player that is a cut above. Now under control.

Multi-channel video playback control leveraging Advanced Media Protocol and the power of OnTheAir Video.

AMP Server delivers.

Bring the performance of OnTheAir Video to your live production. AMP Server makes playlists available to your switcher or production automation as media folders. You can have unique playlists per channel, per show, or even one shared playlist between all the channels. Playlists can be made manually in OnTheAir Video, or via OnTheAir MOS Gateway, or by massive folder-based playlist containing all your media in a network attached storage.

Codec shmodec.

OnTheAir Video allows mix & match codecs, meaning your video gets to air faster. Playlists also allow mix & match frame rate, resolution, and type within the same playlist. So feel free to add music, images, 4K to SD content in one place.

Elevate with eight.

The AMP Server includes four licenses of OnTheAir Video, but you can extend it to control up to eight channels. Non-destructively trim media, or add timed graphics to automatically air, adjust volume, or trigger external devices. Need to make a timed event? Simply take a channel out of rotation and use the scheduler. Further expand what’s possible with the included REST API.

Common protocol. Uniquely implemented.

AMP Server is built to work with switchers or production automation systems made by Sony, Ross, and Grass Valley. Switcher-based workflows leverage multi-folder options to keep media organized and quick to find. For that, multiple OnTheAir Video playlists are made available to AMP Server. Production automation systems typically need a single folder for media content, as they provide the video ID’s necessary for show time. A single folder-based playlist brings all your content into one playlist, automatically adding and removing content in a watched folder.

About these specifications

We know that some of our users can not upgrade their macOS very often. This is why Softron tries to maintain compatibility with older versions of macOS as much as possible, but it is not always possible to achieve. Because Operating Systems are usually significantly improved over previous versions, Softron must use many of the more capable built-in functionalities inherent in Apple's latest OS releases. Failing to do so would mean that Softron software would essentially be blocked from using the new Frameworks provided in the OS. For this reason, Softron's free support is provided only on the current and previous macOS versions. Also, most of our tests will be done on these macOS versions, and only basic tests will be done on the previous OS. We will always try to help, but in some cases, the best solution is to upgrade your macOS to a more recent version.

Softron does not warrant that these recommended configurations will always meet specific user requirements. They are intended as guidelines and are based on extensive testing that Softron has done, they can be changed without notice. Hardware, drivers, software and operating systems change regularly and we advise users and prospective users to evaluate their requirements in their specific environment/workflow using Softron demo licenses that are available for downloading from Softron's web site.
