See Softron at IBC Show 2026

Production needs keep evolving: more formats, more destinations and a greater need for connected workflows. At IBC Show 2026, visit Softron at Booth #7.C07 to see how our Mac-based tools bring ingest, media preparation, newsroom control, replay and playout together—without adding unnecessary complexity.

Rather than a collection of isolated features, the booth is organised around the journey of your media: receive it, prepare it, control it and put it to air. Get a first look at MovieRecorder 5, explore expanded OnTheAir Video and MB Replay workflows, and discuss the integrations that make your particular operation run smoothly.

Bring Your Workflow to the Booth

Every operation has its own mix of channels, control rooms, media sources and delivery deadlines. Tell us how yours works. We will walk through the parts of the Softron ecosystem that matter most to you, from a compact standalone installation to a connected, multi-channel environment.

Come for a focused demonstration, a technical conversation or simply a closer look at what is next. Our team will be on hand throughout the show.

Follow the Media Through Your Workflow

Start with capture and preparation, then see how content moves into the newsroom and on to air. We will also show how remote, browser-based operation can keep teams connected to their systems. These demonstrations are tailored to real broadcast and production environments.

Live Immersive Production Workflows on Mac

For teams exploring what comes after conventional video, we will also demonstrate a live immersive workflow for Apple Vision Pro—an example of how macOS can support the next generation of production.

Built around ProRes over ST 2110-22, Apple silicon and Softron software, it moves immersive production closer to practical, real-time capture and processing rather than a record-then-process model.

  • Designed for high-resolution immersive workflows with synchronized video, audio and metadata
  • Efficient Mac-based processing for immersive ProRes streams over IP
  • Smaller system footprint for more flexible immersive production environments
MovieRecorder 5

MovieRecorder 5 looks at the next stage of Softron’s established ingest platform. Built for modern productions, it expands beyond capture with SMPTE 2110 support, integrated router control and new tools for remote operation and monitoring—all while retaining the reliability and flexibility demanded by continuous operations.

Its completely redesigned web interface brings the familiar MovieRecorder experience to the browser, giving operators greater visibility away from the rack and direct access to their workflows. The result is a more connected control room, with deeper links to automation and external equipment.

  • New router panel to control video routers directly inside ingest workflows
  • Schedule router changes and adjust routing without leaving the MovieRecorder interface
  • New web UI that mirrors the familiar MovieRecorder experience for remote operation
  • Live transcription creates SRT files as content is captured—without a cloud service, extra hardware or network connection
  • Monitor inputs, schedule events and modify recording destinations remotely
  • Expanded integration with REST API, GPI, TSL 5 and serial protocols
  • Tighter connectivity with automation systems and external equipment
OnTheAir MOS Gateway

OnTheAir MOS Gateway bridges NRCS platforms with Softron playout and ingest, so rundown changes can drive video workflows on macOS. At IBC, we will show refinements that keep the relationship between the newsroom and media storage more responsive and easier to manage.

  • Media files and thumbnails are now cached to improve launch times significantly
  • Automatic creation of MOS objects when new media files arrive
  • Automatic removal of MOS objects when media files are deleted
  • Better synchronization between newsroom systems and media storage
  • Reduced manual intervention for more efficient rundown management

The result is a newsroom view that stays closer to the available media, with fewer repetitive handoffs for journalists and operators.

OnTheAir Video

OnTheAir Video scales from a single-channel MacBook Pro setup to sophisticated multi-channel playout. At IBC, we are showing an enhanced bundle with HDR playback, immersive-video support and a redesigned web interface for remote operation and monitoring. It broadens the options available to on-air teams, including:

  • Closed-caption support, including captions displayed over the output preview for easier confidence monitoring
  • Dynamic graphics overlay
  • Remote Pack options for expanded control and workflow flexibility
  • VDCP support, redundancy behaviours and extensive workflow customisation

Together, these options give operators more ways to shape the on-air experience while keeping a straightforward playout workflow at the centre.

M|Replay

M|Replay continues to evolve beyond traditional replay. Whether the requirement is replay, delay, review or immersive video, it is designed to adapt to the production around it.

  • Flexible workflows for replay, delay, review and immersive production
  • New API capabilities for remote control and custom integrations
  • More options for operators and integrators to connect M|Replay to the wider production
OnTheAir Flow

Before media reaches playout, OnTheAir Flow can take care of its preparation. It retrieves content from providers including Extreme Reach, PitchBlue and OnSpot Media, then segments and prepares it according to its delivery instructions.

It works directly with the original media rather than requiring a transcode, while still creating proxies for efficient review. From its web interface, teams can preview content, manage captions, adjust segments and carry out quality control remotely.

  • Automatic ingest and segmentation from content providers
  • Works directly with original media files (no mandatory transcoding)
  • Proxy generation for browser-based review and remote access
  • Web interface for QC, segmentation and metadata adjustments
  • Audio normalization and black detection tools
  • Closed caption extraction and management
  • Seamless integration with OnTheAir Video for playout

The aim is a shorter, clearer path from delivery to air—without giving up control over the media along the way.
