What We Are Showcasing at NAB Show 2026

Explore the newest Softron solutions and product updates on display at NAB Show 2026, all designed to deliver more efficient, synchronized and scalable broadcast workflows on macOS.

MovieRecorder 5 Preview

At NAB, Softron will provide a first preview of MovieRecorder 5, the next evolution of its widely adopted ingest solution. MovieRecorder is trusted by broadcasters and content producers worldwide to capture multiple synchronized video feeds with the reliability, flexibility and performance required for demanding 24/7 operations.

The upcoming version is being developed to give teams more control over increasingly connected and distributed workflows, with powerful new tools for remote operation, router control and deeper integration with automation systems.

  • New router panel to control video routers directly inside ingest workflows
  • Schedule router changes and adjust routing without leaving the MovieRecorder interface
  • New web UI that mirrors the familiar MovieRecorder experience for remote operation
  • Monitor inputs, schedule events and modify recording destinations remotely
  • Expanded integration with REST API, GPI, TSL 5 and serial protocols
  • Tighter connectivity with automation systems and external equipment
OnTheAir MOS Gateway

OnTheAir MOS Gateway connects NRCS platforms to Softron’s playout and ingest systems, enabling automated, rundown-driven control of video content and broadcast workflows on macOS. At NAB Show 2026, Softron will demonstrate new workflow improvements designed to make newsroom integrations faster, smarter and easier to maintain.

  • Media files and thumbnails are now cached to improve launch times significantly
  • Automatic creation of MOS objects when new media files arrive
  • Automatic removal of MOS objects when media files are deleted
  • Better synchronization between newsroom systems and media storage
  • Reduced manual intervention for more efficient rundown management

These enhancements help ensure that newsroom rundowns always reflect the latest available content, while reducing repetitive manual tasks for operators and journalists.

OnTheAir Video

OnTheAir Video is designed for a broad spectrum of broadcast workflows, from single-channel playout on a MacBook Pro to sophisticated multi-channel environments. For NAB Show 2026, Softron is presenting a new enhanced bundle that expand the platform’s capabilities and give users more control over on-air operations. The bundle includes:

  • Closed caption support
  • Dynamic graphics overlay
  • Remote Pack options for expanded control and workflow flexibility

These updates make it easier to build efficient playout workflows while extending the value of OnTheAir Video in both compact and large-scale installations.

OnTheAir Flow

OnTheAir Flow is a new solution designed to automate and streamline media preparation for broadcast operations. It can automatically retrieve content from providers such as Extreme Reach, PitchBlue and OnSpot Media, then segment and prepare it according to delivery instructions—ensuring content is ready exactly as intended.

Unlike traditional workflows that rely on transcoding, OnTheAir Flow works directly with original media files, preserving quality while still enabling proxy generation for efficient review. Through its web interface, teams can preview content, manage captions, adjust segments and perform quality control remotely.

  • Automatic ingest and segmentation from content providers
  • Works directly with original media files (no mandatory transcoding)
  • Proxy generation for browser-based review and remote access
  • Web interface for QC, segmentation and metadata adjustments
  • Audio normalization and black detection tools
  • Closed caption extraction and management
  • Seamless integration with OnTheAir Video for playout

By automating media preparation and simplifying review workflows, OnTheAir Flow accelerates the path from content delivery to air while maintaining flexibility and control across modern broadcast environments.
