We are happy to say that we have been working on macOS High Sierra since a while and there is no known issue with the latest versions of our applications. If you want to upgrade, we recommend as usual to have a backup readily available so you can revert back just in case the upgrade does not go as smoothly as it has been for us. If you do so, and you are using a serial number, remember to deactivate your serial number before booting from a backup hard drive.

If you are using a dongle, make sure to update your Softron application to the latest version available from the downloads page (the ones released after September 10th, 2017) to ensure that your dongle license will be seen.

MovieRecorder, M-Family, News, Press Release, Release, Release Notes

Ten years after the release of the first version of MovieRecorder, we are bringing another major (r)evolution to ingest solutions with MovieRecorder 4 and MovieRecorder Express 4. We will be showing MovieRecorder 4 at IBC2017, stand 7.G12, so come by and see for yourself.

NEW in MovieRecorder 4:

  • Fully configurable user interface
  • NDI® sources
  • External audio sources
  • Effects and overlays
  • HEVC (H.265) support
  • Save and restore configurations

MovieRecorder Express 4 is an entry-level version of MovieRecorder. It uses the same reliable recording engine and beautiful user interface as MovieRecorder 4, with the same outstanding features such as edit-while-ingest, NDI® sources, scheduling, remote control,...  But it limits some of the available features to make it even more affordable for everyone.

MovieRecorder 4 and MovieRecorder Express 4 will be available for purchase on October 1st, 2017. Contact us if you are interested in being part of the beta program when it's available.

This is a minor release, but with a major change: it now comes with an installer. Because of Gatekeeper we had to provide an installer.

BE AWARE that the OnTheAir CG will be installed in a folder named "OnTheAir CG", so you will have to delete the previous versions that were in folder named "OnTheAir CG 3". Make sure you also remove them from the dock so you actually start with the new version.

A few good news: There are some sample projects and html pages provided so you can actually get started with the wonders of the REST API. Get a web developer working on this to see all you can do with that. Contact us for more info if needed.

What's new with  OnTheAir Video CG 3.2.4?

OnTheAir Video, OnTheAir Video Express, Release Notes

This is a minor release, but with a major change: it now comes with an installer. Because of Gatekeeper we had to provide an installer.

There are now only 2 different downloads (instead of 3): a single and a multi. The "Single" installer is for one channel only. The "Multi" installer is for 2 to 8 playout channels on the same Mac. During the installation process you will be able to choose the number of channels that you want to install.

BE AWARE that the multi version will install in a folder named "OnTheAir Video", so you will have to delete the previous versions that were in folder named "DUAL" or "QUAD". Make sure you also remove them from the dock so you actually start with the new version.

A few good news: You can now install up to 8 channels of playout. If you install OnTheAir Video, there are optional AppleScript Samples that you can install. Installing Actions and OnTheAir Tools is also optional so you can really fine tune what you want to install.

What's new with  OnTheAir Video Express and OnTheAir Video 3.5.4?

  • FIXED: issue with the ATEM control that did not work anymore.
  • FIXED: issue when multiple devices using the same name were connected. (For example multiple UltraStudio 4K, or multiple AJA Io 4K)

  • FIXED: audio issues in 1080i29.97 when using the SMART engine with AJA devices
