Softron Media Services solutions: Mauro De Santis and his uses of OnTheAir Studio
My name is Mauro DeSantis and I am a Producer, Songwriter, Engineer , Remixer, and Musician. I 've been producing since the early 90's in all types of music . Some of the artists I've produced include Billy Preston, Earth, Wind, & Fire, Lesley Gore, Jose Feliciano, Oscar DelaHoya, Brenda K. Starr, 4pm for positive music, and many more including William Hung from American Idol. I've also done remix work for Donna Summer, Anastasia, Cher, Brandy, LaBouche, Lionel Richie, The Cardigans, Christina Augleria, and Connie Francis just to name a few.
I've been working in the music business for 20 + years and witnessed the birth of digital. We have come along way since the days of analog tape. Computers have become an indispensable tool in today's music business. Digital Work stations have replaced analog tape machines forever but the emulations of the tools of yesterday are alive in software form. Not all software is created equal though.
Softronmedia has proved that theory by the products they have created and support. Softronmedia understands that there is no margin for error in todays digital world. When I perform live, I only use OnTheAir Studio software. It is extremely stable and user friendly. Sometimes I do large format live Radio shows like NYC KTU's Discoball with artists such as Tavares, The Tramps, Gloria Gaynor, Martha Wash just to name a few. Most of these artist have backing tracks to guide the band through the arrangement on stage and thats where I use OnTheAir. The Grid is easy to see on stage and always starts on the money.
In the studio , I use Apple's Logic Pro 8 , with Universal Audio's UAD mix cards, a Motu Ultralite mk3 interface, Focusrite Saphire interface and a macbook pro. Some of my keyboards include a Yamaha Grand Clavinova piano, Yamaha Tyros 2, Roland Juno G, Ketron SD1, Sample Tank 2 , and Miroslav Philharmonik orchestra library. Once the tracks are mixed , I simply drag the finished master (in any file type format)in to the OnTheAir program. I also use Mainstage ,which is a side car of Logic pro, as a sound engine for my Keyboards on stage.
OnTheAir and Mainstage opened together are no threat to me on stage. Even though Mainstage is a CPU and Ram hog , OnTheAir runs with no conflicts. In Fact one of my computers from 10 years ago, a clamshell G3 mac laptop, still works flawlessly with OnTheAir (OS9 version). Why fix something if it isn't broke? This product is so simple to use and is well supported by the Softronmedia team. Over the years I've seen plenty of softwares come and go but Softronmedia is here to stay. OnTheAir Studio ! Use it with confidence like I do !
